Job: Paid – Male actor 60+ for Zoom (digital) theater
About the job:
We are looking for a male actor, (well in cyberspace!) as we are about to start rehearsals for a digital theater production of a script based on D.H. Lawrence's novel “The Lost Girl”.
The synopsis: Alvina Houghton, the headstrong daughter of a widowed Midlands draper, comes of age just as her father's business is failing. In a desperate attempt to regain his fortune and secure his daughter's proper place in society, James Houghton buys a theater. Among the traveling performers, he employs is Ciccio, a sensual Italian who immediately captures Alvina's attention. A celebration of freedom, however fleeting, and a testament to the power of the imagination to transform even the most mundane life.
About the participant:
We are looking for a male participant aged 60+ years, to play the role as Mr. Houghton, who is a dreamer and failed businessman.
NB - English RP accent required. This is recasting due to a case of covid (the original person is on the mend, just unable to take up the role at the moment).
Additionally, we would ask that the actor has a basic working knowledge of Zoom and a reasonably steady internet signal.
Brixham / Remote online.
Auditions will take place this week (time to be arranged) over Zoom, and involve working with a side of the script.
Rehearsals will be over Zoom on Wednesday evenings (7- 9.30 pm approx) and the final performance is in Mid Jan, on Zoom as well.
This is a paid job:
This is a paid equal profit share opportunity. This is an online ticketed event and in line with our company standard profit-share model, each actor and crew person gets an equal share of the ticket taker. Please apply for more information.
How to Take Part:
