Background: In the UK the Government's 'ethnicity facts and figures" shows that the black community is almost nine times more likely to be stopped and searched than people from white backgrounds. Between April 2021 and March 2022, there were 27.2 stop and searches for every 1,000 black people, compared with 5.6 for every 1,000 white people in England and Wales.
"Unjust Stop" is a short narrative film (6-8mins) that puts a spotlight on the emotional effects that improper stop & searches have on individuals.
Synopsis: A group of young black people attend a therapy session, to discuss the trauma of an improperly conducted stop & search, but for one individual the damage has already been done.
We are looking to fill the following positions;
Therapist
About the Character: Black, Female, 50-60, Warm, supportive, kind. Someone the kids can trust, and open up to. Emotionally intelligent and calm

Casting calls are to be held on 5th Feb.
Rehearsals will take place on 12th Feb.
Shoot Dates: Thu 22nd & Fri 23rd February (Exact details TBC)
