Logline:
Paul, an insecure man haunted by his childhood abandonment, reconnects with his long-lost sister while she is in rehab. When their birth mother unexpectedly reappears, he is forced to confront his traumatic past.

Foundlings is a short film (approximately 20–25 minutes) inspired by the real-life experiences of one of its writers, Simon.

Margaret
Description: White female, mid-50s to early 60s
Background:
Margaret is the estranged birth mother of Paul and Sarah, our two protagonists. She abandoned them as children, leaving both in foster care. Years later, she returned to reclaim Sarah but left Paul behind to be adopted by a new family.
The film picks up years later (with a few flashbacks to the past) when Margaret contacts Paul out of the blue to inform him that Sarah is in rehab. Her sudden reappearance at the rehab center stirs up painful memories and unresolved trauma for both siblings.
Margaret is emotionally distant and refuses to acknowledge the harm she caused. She feels she has done nothing wrong and sees no need to apologize. While she loves her children in her own way, she struggles to express that love as a mother should.
Location and Date:
The film is tentatively scheduled to shoot in Cambridge in March 2025 over four days (two consecutive weekends) at a single location.
Final shooting dates will be confirmed in January 2025.
Job Rate:
Unpaid, but we will cover all expenses, including food, travel, and potential accommodation.
