MOVIE LOGLINE: ‘A rigid yet ambitious Creative Writing student must take the love she discovers in one of her characters and turn it to her dysfunctional parents in order to end her dry spell, cure her depression and meet her university deadlines.’
About the job:
JESS, 19 - The main character.
She's rigid, ambitious and depressed, with observant eyes and a generally mildy Aspergic demeanour. She spends most of the movies stroking leaves and trying to feel something. Then she falls in love with a magic girl named Esther, and finds peace with her wild mother.
NOTE: I’d really like it if Jess and John could be some kind of not-white. To be honest, none of these roles need to be racially specific as long as there’s a sense of relatedness in the chemistry. Please don’t hesitate if you’re getting that ‘oh but they probably have to be white’ feeling because they most certainly do not.
Getting the role in the trailer doesn’t secure the role in the feature.

Cornwall based so looking for those close in the South West

We aim to begin shooting the feature in late August.
Job Rate:
Please note this is low budget.
£10ph, hours TBC across 2 days, sometimes- most likely a weekend- during the second two weeks of April, with 2 or 3 unpaid Zoom meetings beforehand: one for rehearsal and one recorded for crowdfunding content.
