Profile description:
The address Is Amber foundation, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge, BA14 8HR
I have experience in theatre. I have been In a play when I was in secondary school Rowdeford school in Devizes called the Tempest by William Shakespeare. I played one of the Drunken sailors and memorized every line, word for word.
When I was younger I joined a Tae Kwon Do Martial Arts class. Starting from the bottom, working my way up to Black Belt 1st Dan. I learned about fitness, mesmerising patterns variations, 3 step, 2 step and 1 step attacks and defence. Free sparing and breaking Boards easy to hard, studying theories and part in other events.
During my teens I took up street dancing. I was inspired by the movie Step up and Step up 2. I joined a club called Jax Dance and competed in a few dance competitions. If you look up my name in Google you will see me in a news paper article The Gazette and Harald about one of the competition.
Malmesbury teen Matt Meadon freestyled his way to success at a dance competition in Stroud last week as he impressed the judges with his stylish performance.
The 17-year-old, who performs with Christian Malford-based Jax Dance, started the day with a stomach virus – but he went on to take home the trophy for a senior solo performance.
Teacher Jackie ‘Jax’ Avery said she felt as if she could be watching the Britain’s Got Talent finals.
“Most dancers plan their solo routines and work on them for months – that wasn’t going to be Matt’s style,” she said.
Just before performing, he told us, ‘I’m going to freestyle, just tell me when I need to stop’. This was completely new and even the DJ and staff running the event looked a bit worried and baffled, but he went on to blow the judges away and won the gold medal and first place trophy for the senior solo performance.”
The competition, Stepping Out, brings together different dance styles, including street, disco, contemporary, breakdance and burlesque.
“It was amazing – similar to seeing George Sampson for the first time on Britain’s Got Talent,” said Mrs Avery.
“Years of self-taught dance moves, experience from training at a dance school and determination came through to show unbelievable waves and tricks, awesome power moves and high energy that kept on going. The audience roared for him.”
The teenager admitted to being overwhelmed by the reaction, telling his teacher: “I finished and they kept on cheering.
“It was really loud and I didn’t know what to do.”
The all-male senior dance team Flex and Crew, led by Matt, also took silver medals for their performance.
Mrs Avery said: “I’m so proud of all of them – it was such an amazing day.”
And after a while I was in charge of my own classes teaching kids how to dance, making dance routines of my own.
I also took up Trampolining in Secondary school and did a competition in the South West Regional Trampolining Competition back in 2009, at the City Academy - Bristol, Russell Town Avenue, Redfield. Our School came 7th place under 19 Boys category.
In college in my 3rd year I studied a BTEC Course in Sports.
I was inspired by my coach to take on Bodybuilding. And we became good friends and as time moved on I started to look into Bodybuilding competitions and asked if he could help me with the posing to compete in my 1st competition.
I did my first competition in Cardiff in the Mens physique under 80 kg category and came 3rd place. After a year I did another competition in the over 80 kg category Mens Bodybuilding and came 4th place. The year after that I did another competition and came 4th place again in the same category. And in the future I hope to complete in many more to come in First place.
