About the Project /Job:
Project Title: 'For the People'
Project length: Short Film (10-12 minutes)
Synopsis: A dystopian coming-of-age short concept film set in a fallen capitalist society. During this collapse, the poor revolt and hunt the rich. A raw and emotive exploration into themes of anarchy, humanity, poverty and the fragility of love.
Role: Tanner/ Male / AGE 40 – 50
About the Character:
- Tanner is the father of Blaire. He leads the poorer districts to anarchy and murder through his speeches and organised “hunts”. He is a good talker and charismatic leader, but manipulative and weak at heart. He needs a lot of validation from his daughter and will never take responsibility of his actions. He is constantly victimising himself and people around him to justify their actions. He is unstable and unpredictable and claims everything he does in the name of “saving the children of the future”. He lost his wife in the past due to lack of health care from the poverty divide. From this he spiralled to a very dark place and became very self-centred and trapped in a pity bubble that he has never gotten out of.
