About the Project /Job:
Project Title: 'When We Were Young'
- When We Were Young’ tells the story of one of the many young teams of Glasgow who polluted the streets during the late 90s/early 00s when the city was named as the murder capital of Europe.
We are looking for a male actor (playing age 25-35) to take on the role who is adept to both comedy and drama.
Character Name: Joe
About the Character:
Joe is one of the main members of the young team and a vital role within the show.
Joe is a stereotypical nerd that you would expect to find in a 90s young team spending his life full of bucky and bravado!
Qualification:
- Applicants must be strong character actor as they will be required to play the character at two stages of his life. Late teens and late twenties.
- The character of Joe often brings some much-needed comedy relief to the show, so we are also looking for actors who have good comedy timing.
- Also due to the nature and language of the show, we require applicants to have a native Glaswegian accent and be comfortable with Glaswegian slang.
Location and Date:
Performances: The Edinburgh Fringe and two performances at the Glasgow Pavilion and a two-night run in Newcastle!
Rehearsals will take place on Monday and Thursday evenings from Monday 3rd March and will run right up until opening night on 23rd of April. applicants must have full availability for these evenings and full availability on the show dates.
Auditions will be held at the end of January, date TBC.
Job Rate:
This production is paid on a PROFIT SHARE basis, however as previously stated we are already booked in with amazing venues and all tickets are available to buy already.
